Soccer Season Opens

  On Saturday, Oct. 21, at Fallon School, boys in grades 4 through 6
who joined their local soccer teams will have the chance to compete
in their first league game.
  The first game is scheduled for 10 am with four more games to follow.
  The soccer league came into being when Ed Hardy, coach at Fallon School,
called a meeting for any one interested in helping to organize a league.
From this meeting the league came into being and eleven teams were formed.
  The league at present has three commissioners; Marvin Inns, Warren Walters
and Wilmer Vint. Assisting these volunteers are Dan Rodrigues and Ron Lacey.
The league consists of all volunteers working together with the Kiwanis Club
and the Recreation Dept.
  Any one interested in coaching, etc. call 826-xxxx or 846-xxxx and leave your
name and phone number. At present the league needs some volunteer referees.
League play will begin Oct. 21 and will continue to Christmas vacation.
  Starting around Jan. 1, all-star teams will be selected from the school areas
and these teams will compete in the Cup Play. Interested boys may still join
teams until Oct. 28.

10am, Shamrocks vs. Panthers;
11:15am, Tigers vs. Spurs;
1 pm, Bobcats vs. Bucks;
2:15 pm, Ocelots vs. Rovers;
and 3:30 pm, Pumas vs. Wild Cats.
