Presidents Message

Welcome to the 2004 05 soccer season which will see many changes as the Dublin United Soccer League continues to grow as does our fair City.   We are blessed with many hard working volunteers who give much of their time and energy that allows our children to play the most popular sport in the World.  Soccer in Dublin as it is in the other Tri-Valley cities has more participation than the other youths sports combined.

The DUSL Board has been working diligently with the City to ensure fields and facilities stay current with our expected population growth and popularity of soccer.  We look forward to the addition of more soccer fields at Emerald Glen and at the new Sports Park in East Dublin.

Many of the Board members have or had children who played in both the competitive and recreational house programs.  We take pride in being able to provide a quality program for both but also recognize that the needs and requirements of competitive soccer and recreational house soccer are different.  We will measure our success as a Board and League when all our children think their soccer program is the best.  We may never be the biggest in the Tri-Valley but we will work towards being the best.

DUSL is the smallest league in District 3 (Livermore, Pleasanton, Fremont, Newark, San Ramon, Danville) which most would consider to be the hotbed of youth soccer in California.  Our recreational house teams do quite well in both league play and tournaments.  The past four years we have developed our competitive soccer in both the Class 1 and Class 3 programs.  We continue to add more competitive teams every year and proud to report that our teams win more than their share of league titles and tournament championships.

I would also like to take this opportunity to give a special Thanks to Jim and Debbie Brundage for all the years of hard work to DUSL.   They were the ones at the Sports Ground at 5 AM to make sure the nets and corner flags were out and then back out till dark on Sunday putting everything away.  I often teased them that they needed jobs during the week to recover from all the hard volunteer work on the weekends.  Hopefully, Jim and Debbie will get bored and re-join the Board.
